March 23 , 2018

We would like to introduce you to the Kyoto State Guest House in this two-minute video.

Geihinkan is a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese architecture and interior design. The facility serves as a space to welcome foreign dignitaries and help them understand more about Japan while deepening international relations. It is decorated with pieces of art showcasing Kyoto’s traditional crafts, such as makie lacquer and Nishijin weaving.

Geihinkan is open to the public and offers both self-guided tours and guided tours. Please note that scheduled public openings may be cancelled due to visits by state or official guests or for other administrative reasons. Make sure to check the website before you visit.
